Who is responsible for your data

The controller of the personal data collected through this website and at the restaurant is Ramos & Góis, Lda., the company that runs Local by Góis.

What this website collects

Nothing that identifies you. Browsing these pages requires no registration, opens no account, saves no preferences on your device and leaves no trail we could tie back to you.

Specifically, this website has no:

• contact, booking or newsletter forms,
• member area, user registration or passwords,
• online sales, shopping basket or payments,
• cookies of its own, advertising pixels or visitor analytics tools,
• sharing, sale or transfer of data to third parties for commercial purposes.

When you contact us

Bookings by phone

To hold a table we write down your name, phone number, the date, the time and the number of guests. This is used only to run the dining room that day and to let you know if anything changes. The legal basis is the taking of steps at your request prior to entering into a contract, under Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation. The booking note is deleted after service, unless there is an accounting or legal reason to keep it.

Emails

If you write to us, we hold your address and the content of your message, and use them only to reply and to follow the matter through. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering those who approach us, under Article 6(1)(f) of the same Regulation. We keep the exchange while the matter is open and delete it once it is no longer needed.

Invoicing

If you ask for an invoice with a tax number, that data is processed under a legal obligation and kept for the period required by tax law.

CCTV in the dining room

The restaurant has a CCTV system in the dining room. The cameras are there to protect people and property, to deter theft and to clear up incidents that happen on the premises. They are not used to monitor the performance of the people who work here, nor to watch individual customers.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the safety of people and property, under Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation, together with the rules on video surveillance in commercial premises set out in Portuguese Law no. 34/2013 of 16 May.

How the system works:

• the cameras record image only, never sound,
• there are no cameras in toilets, changing areas or any other private space,
• recordings are kept for thirty days and destroyed at the end of that period, unless they have to be handed to the authorities as part of a case,
• the system was installed and is maintained by Sector Alarm, a security company that handles the footage on our behalf, as our processor, and only as far as is needed to keep the system running,
• beyond that, access to the footage is limited to the restaurant's own management and, where the law requires it, to the police and the courts,
• the footage is never published, passed to third parties or used for commercial purposes.

The premises carry the notice required by law stating that the area is under video surveillance. If you want to know whether any footage of you is being kept, or to ask for it to be deleted, use the contacts given on this page: the law allows us to refuse deletion where the footage is needed as evidence of an incident.

Third-party services used on these pages

Even though the site collects nothing, parts of the page are served by other companies. When they load, your browser talks to those companies and passes them, at the very least, your IP address and technical information about your device and browser. This is how the web ordinarily works, but it is worth saying plainly:

• Hosting. The pages are hosted by Netlify, which keeps technical server access logs for security and operational reasons. We do not use those logs to identify visitors.
• Typefaces. The fonts are served by Google Fonts.
• Map. The "Find us" section shows a Google Maps map inside the page. When it loads, Google may store information in your browser and process your data under Google's own privacy rules. If you would rather it did not load, you can block third-party content in your browser settings: the address is written on the page and is enough to find us.
• Social networks. The Instagram and Facebook links are plain links. Nothing from those networks is loaded inside the site, and only when you click them do you move onto those platforms, under their rules.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies of its own, neither analytics nor advertising. That is why you will not see a cookie consent banner here: there would be no consent to ask for.

The Google map, being another company's content embedded in the page, may store information in your browser when it loads. You can delete or block that at any time in your browser settings, without affecting the rest of the site.

Your rights

Over whatever data we hold about you, the law gives you the right to:

• know what data we hold and ask for a copy,
• correct anything wrong or incomplete,
• ask for it to be erased,
• ask for the processing to be restricted,
• object to processing based on our legitimate interest,
• receive it in a format you can reuse,
• withdraw consent, where consent was the basis, without affecting what was done before.

To exercise any of these rights, write to localbygois@gmail.com or call +351 289 055 019. We answer within one month. We may need to confirm your identity before handing over information, so that it does not go to the wrong person.

If you believe your data is not being handled properly, you may complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados, at www.cnpd.pt.

Security and changes to this policy

The site is served over an encrypted connection, and the contact details you trust us with are available only to the people who run the restaurant and need them for service.

If the site ever gains forms, online bookings or analytics tools, this policy will be updated before that happens, and the date at the top of the page will show the version in force.
